What we do
FiftyOne Commons provides Northeast Lincoln with youth development opportunities, meaningful community spaces, and affordable housing.
How we do it
At the heart of this multi-acre development is a 10,500-square-foot community facility fully equipped with a youth makerspace, a podcast studio, a computer learning lab, and a gymnasium.
Through close collaboration with local schools and nonprofits, we utilize this specialized STEAM Activity Center and its versatile community spaces to deliver weekend programs, interactive summer camps, and neighborhood-wide events. Anchored by an on-site community garden and affordable rowhouse rentals, the campus functions as a safe, welcoming space that fosters a healthier, more connected community for generations to come.
STEAM Activity Center
The Activity Center delivers youth programming focused on a STEAM curriculum. The facility features a youth makerspace, classroom, podcast studio, computer lab, recreation area, half-court gymnasium, and community garden.

Science Saturdays are two hour sessions that explore exciting topics in science and technology! Designed for kids from kindergarten through seventh grade, each session will expand your student's creativity and interest in all things STEM. Sign Up
Affordable Housing
Lincoln is experiencing a critical housing shortage. FiftyOne Commons steps into this need by providing eight units of high-quality, affordable row housing.
Community Garden
The Community Crops Garden at FiftyOne Commons provides plots for local tenants and neighbors, alongside raised demonstration beds and edible perennial landscaping. This unique space serves as a summer learning environment for youth participating in Family Service Lincoln’s Youth Development program.

Mad Scientist Lab
Mad Scientist Lab is a hands-on exploration of the exciting world of science. Young scientists will investigate the microscopic world, create their own chemical reaction to produce elephant toothpaste, and discover how crystals grow with a “Grow Your Own Crystal” activity.
Exploration Engineer’s Lab
Calling all future engineers and curious creators! In Exploration Engineer’s Lab, young innovators will explore the exciting world of engineering and renewable energy by designing and building their very own mini wind turbine!
